El Santuario de Chimayo

"Let nothing disturb you.
 Let nothing frighten you.
 All things pass.
 God does not change.
 Patience achieves everything.
 Whoever has God lacks nothing.
 God alone suffices."
 Saint Teresa of Avila

This is a place of miracles.

This is a place of prayer.

I have been here at least three times and each time I get the same feeling.   It's overwhelming.   An abundant sense of peace and grace settles around you as delicate as gossamer webs.

It's like God enters into you through an orifice you know nothing about.   And He makes himself at home in your heart.

You know this because, all of a sudden, your heart feels ten times larger.   You feel it swell inside you.  Like it will burst with a power...a spirit....too bold to keep inside.  And not understanding why, your tears fall, as if flushing out the evil, the baneful, the poison.   This must be the purpose for which you were drawn to Chimayo.

All feels right here.   In this sacred place.

May all your blessings grow from prayer and glorify your life.

  2. Hi Patty,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed the time you spent while reading. The coffee root was given to me by my husband as a birthday gift. We got it at Hill Country Water Gardens in Cedar Park. It was the only one they had and I've not seen any there since. I'm sorry, I wish I had better news for you about where you might be able to find one. Have you tried a google search? You never know what it might turn up...

New Mexico is a favorite destination for my family. We've had lots of good family times there skiing and my daughter and I love to shop in Taos and Santa Fe. I'm hoping to get up there this spring with a girlfriend. Your photographs make me want to even more!
