The Foundry has a garden, which really isn't what we think of as a garden. It's just grass, but you can walk around and see the different sculptures that are scattered hither and yon. Some quite serious with deep titles, and others which are just down right cute.
This is exactly what our clothesline looked like when I was growing up. Reminds me of my mom.
After spending time here viewing these awesome sculptures which make you think, and make you wonder, we moved on to less serious venues. It is hard to remember everything we did, because we were literally all over the map. It took us hours to get to the store that we had wanted to see because we kept seeing other things great places along the way. We'd stop, then try to remember where we were going ! I think we went to every bead store on the route, consignment shops, and the cutest store with great things in it ! Very nice owner !
This was called Venus Giving the Moon a Bath. You should see the look on his face !
A building we passed. Loved these colors together !
After hearing from our hubbies we started to make our way back home, but we first stopped in at The Chocolate Smith. You almost fall to your knees when you enter the store, the scent of dark chocolate permeating the air surrounding you. Ohhhhhhh ! We had a few samples and I made note of those things I wanted to come back and get. Chocolate and chile ! Two things you don't expect together, but make a wonderful combination if you like either one separately.
By this time I wasn't feeling too great. That hot sauce I had for lunch was working on my gringa tummy and it was hurting. Still, Steve and I made plans to meet our friends for dinner at the Brewery at the Railyard. Simple fare, since we were all tired of New Mexican food. We started out that direction, but I was feeling pretty crummy, so we opted out and went back home. Stopped at Burger King for a hamburger for Steve and some chicken tenders for me if I could eat them. Went to bed early -- 8 p.m. But it was a good thing.
I am still not caught up, but I'm one tired pup and will try again tomorrow. Sorry to keep you one day behind. Instead of blogging earlier when I had time, I wanted to write to another blogger who I have come to appreciate, admire, and respect. Her blog is Fiona and Twig if you'd like to see her sometime. Will put link at bottom. She is finding it difficult to deal with her mother's aging issues. I wanted to write to her and give her encouragement and support. This was important to me. I wanted to press upon her how urgent it was to find her faith again and depend on it during this difficult venture. This is a journey we do not want to take, but which is necessary to endure. We must pass through this portal and gain entry to the other side, to a world which no longer includes our parents. If we are lucky, we are called upon to travel with our parent to the gate of heaven, but we must let go of their hand as they enter their new home on the other side. This lovely lady is hesitant and I know she is finding this difficult. I am trying to hold her up as I wished for someone to do the same for me at one time. Please say a prayer for Anne and her mother.

God bless my friends for being there when I need them.
Good night.

You blog so well I think you should continue when you get home. In the meantime we're enjoying your comments about the all the places you visit and all the interesting things you and your companions eat :-) When I lived in N.M. I found out that N.M. Mexican food is a lot different from Tex Mex. I love them both. But wow -- chocolate combined with chile peppers must give a whole new meaning to 'hot chocolate'.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures from the sculpture place. I love the clothes line, but couldn't help but wonder if there are any HMOs that would consider it art? LOL
Fiona and Twig is a beautiful blog spot.
