Sunday, August 21. The computer would not get with the program last night so I had to wait and double up my entries.

Had a great sleep ! Woke around 6:30 but waited for the alarm. We got ready and drove downtown for the Indian Market, a fantastic event if you ever get the chance to go. It makes one wish for unlimited funds when you see the wonderful talents of these honorable people. Although most items are beyond my pocketbook, I very much admire the artistry and appreciate the craftsmanship. There is a slew of silver, a plethora of pottery, and bunches of baskets. Not to mention the weaving, the sculpture and the painting. We got there early to get through some of it without being elbow-to-elbow with others. The crowds must have been here the day before because is didn't seem that bad.

Before leaving the Plaza we decided on lunch at La Plazuela inside La Fonda. Steve ordered a margarita and beef & shrimp fajitas, while I tried a somewhat lighter meal of chicken salad croissant sandwich and sweet potato fries. After lunch I checked on a few of the shops in the hotel which included Rocki Gorman. She's a favorite jewelry artist with wonderful baubles ! I had a question about some pieces that I have which I was told were related to her company. The sales person pointed her out to me, but I could not see her. I was looking for someone with long dark hair. Rocki has been undergoing chemotherapy and has lost her lovely tresses. My prayers are with her. I was told I could speak with her but, alas, she walked into her office before I was able to.

We left about 1:30 and headed to The Flea, a fairly new flea market to the area, and one we had not been to before. It was two hours until closing, so I tried to make the best use of my time. Unfortunately, the monsoon had other ideas. Many vendors started to close up for fear of getting wet, or just losing their customers. We left to head over to Jackalope, one of my favorite places EVER ! I was looking for specific treasures to take home for my faithful plant-waterers. We completed our
shopping without getting wet. YAY !
Friends from Fort Worth came to have some fun with us and we met them for dinner at Harry's Roadhouse. We got a little wet. It was POURING ! Looked....smelled.....felt.....wonderful.
I love a rainy night, I love a rainy night. I love to hear the thunder, watch the lightning when it lights up the sky.
