There were tearful good-byes today as many in this small town left behind a friend in the garden of stone.
Thankfully, there were also reluctant smiles as we remembered our Susan in lovingly shared memories.
Our church bell pealed as we imagined her arrival at heaven's gate, her mother and father waiting with open arms, and the Lord holding out a hand in welcome. Her reward is well-earned. But to many of us, too soon gained.
I am thankful that circumstance allowed me the blessing of seeing Susan one last time two days before she left us. Your prayers for her family are welcome and appreciated.
Farewell, until we meet again, my friend.
Please send rain.
Hi Patty ~ Thank you so much for your sweet comment regarding my blocks. It was a fun, easy little project! :) Once I sanded them, the original color (red) of the block did show through a bit. You could always paint them with another color first, cover that color with white, and then sand them back to reveal the 1st painted color, too! :) Have fun making them!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, Patty. I wanted to stop by and say "hi" and thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty,
ReplyDeleteIts funny how I great deal of the people I end up meeting through our blogs live in Texas. My Mom was born and raised in Texas and I think it was her Texas roots are what have brought me here through blogs. Even though she has been gone for a few years, it's nice to touch base with those that still live in her beloved Texas!
Take care, Sue
